A good faith effort to reboot this journal.
1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Hrm, banner year on this one:
Got married, moved cross-country, practiced medicine, lost a patient, lived in The South, cared about SEC football, Spent Christmas away from family.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
My standby, "Make it through the year with health and sanity intact" is always on there, and I managed it pretty well. The new one is "Get in shape, no seriously this time." Nick and I refuse to get complacent and chubby on each other.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
One of the residents had an adorable baby boy about 3 months ago.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thank goodness. We had a sad and tragic loss from our medical school graduating class - just shy of graduation, but he and I weren't close.
5. What countries did you visit?
Mexico for our Amazing honeymoon. Seriously, I can't imagine a better time.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Better balance. This is the first time I'm really trying my hand at "being a grownup" and I'm pretty sure I can be a more loving wife, a better doctor and have more fun doing all of the above. May need an extra hour in the day, but I'll try.
7. What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
March 19th, matched to Savannah.
May 22nd, got m'self hitched
June 22nd, started Doctoring.

As a Brand New MD, took call overnight and nobody died.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not keeping up contact with everyone I love as much I need and want to.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Pityriasis Rosea. Itched like a mother scooter for about 2 weeks, but the residency then got that board question right as a result.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
The meal card for our Honeymoon resort. Delicious Chilaquiles!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
MY PARENTS, HOLY CRAP. Between masterminding an amazing, beautiful wedding and driving the Truck of Doom down through the mountains, I couldn't have done it without them. And as always, Nick for scraping me off the ceiling during my "Why do I want to do this crazy job??" moments.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I'd rather not say, but suffice to say that I'm no longer hurt by their behavior and merely sad about it.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, utilities, suuuuushi.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
